University of Sussex Alumni Interview – Daisy Tester

1. What attracted you to work at Burt Brill & Cardens?

I called for work experience and was asked to apply for a role instead – looked like a small local firm which was what I was after, operating in different areas of law.

2. Why did you choose to study law at the University of Sussex?

Close to home and I received an unconditional offer – also liked the modules.

3. How did your university experience prepare you for your current role?

University helped me in knowing the law but the application and day to day running of cases you can only really learn through work experience.

4. What advice do you have for recent graduates who are job searching?

Don’t rule out areas of law until you have tried them, any experience is good experience. Try and get work experience in office-based admin roles whilst studying; it’s a big help.
